Crivello's Place sells local food, they also make plain Malasadas every day. It's been a while, but from what I remember they were light and delicious!
Hours 5:30-1:00pm Loretta said call ahead to make sure they have not sold out.

I thought of Crivello's Place also but it's been so long since I've been there I wasn't sure it was still there. It was one of my faves when I was there last. That and Lucy's Okazuya down the street a ways. Then sit at Kaumana cave Park and munch.

Sorry, no Malasadas at Lucy's (unless they changed) but lots of other good stuff. I mentioned Lucy's as it was down the street from Crivello's. If as I remember, both places are for early birds.

Hmm? I thought Lucy's closed? Hilo Lunch Box/Shop has great okazu food. IMO, Baker Tom's and Punalu'u Bakery have the better malasadas. The malasadas here are way different from those on O'ahu which are more yeasty and not cakey.

Closed? I sure hope not. I eat there darn near every day, when on island.

Perhaps I'm wrong about that.

agree completely they are like eating a bread roll with sugar on it. nothing like the great malasadas from Leonards on Oahu. Need to try the ones down in Punaluu, sure miss the light tasty ones from leonards. thanks Royall heading down there tomorrow!!!!
