Woke me up in Orchidland

A light earthquake occurred at 4:37:18 AM (HST) on Saturday, January 5, 2013 .
The magnitude 4.4 event occurred 7 km (4 miles) SE of Pu`u `O`o Crater.
The hypocentral depth is 9 km ( 6 miles).

Yeah, but it made all the dogs bark for about 10.

I noticed there was a 7.5 quake in Alaska that happened about 11:00pm Hawaii time. I wonder if this was the Earth "adjusting". Seems like it would take about 6 hours for a subterranean shockwave to travel that far.

Next time, you can report the quake to the USGS here http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/d...abled.html

The way my house shook, I thought last night's quake must be a 5.0. I guess sleep doesn't do much for my internal seismometer.
