All,
In this case I don't mean Pam Lamont although she deserves all our thoughts and prayers on her recovery, but my own Pam stuck in California. She's having some difficulties but hopefully will get through it. She has a very severe form of lupus, has battled cancer while also dealing with diabetes. In the last hour she emailed me saying that she has been diagnosed with some cognitive dysfunction, but knowing her she'll battle through this.
We are planning to meet up again in CA in March, and on that her words were: "Some of the possibilities don't look very good, and I'm scared. But I think I will still recognize you when you come here!"
As you can imagine I'm quite upset and emotional right now, but it would mean a lot to Pam if you could think about her and if religious, like her, say a quick prayer for her.
She has been through too much already and doesn't deserve this. Pam does read Punatalk from time to time so anything said here to encourage her (and me!) would be very welcome.
Thank you my friends.
Tom

Hi Tom and Pam. I haven't (yet) had the pleasure of meeting either of you but I wish you both the best and I hope Pam gets well very soon. California has great doctors; you're in good hands.

Well, Tom....
- I guess you would have to call me religious - but I think Christian better defines it. I'm the guy who always puts info about the goings on at Puna Baptist Church (the church on the hill).
- Anyway, PBC maintains an active prayer chain and you can consider yourself and Pam on it.
- We pray God's Blessing and Best for you both..

Tom, you've been one of the best contributors to Punaweb, knowledgeable and reasonable. Our hearts and minds are with you and Pam, with great hope that all will work out well.

Our thoughts are with her.
I keep reading about new, raw, herbal therapies that are curing cancers. Soursop is in the news, as a possible ally, as well.
We'll hold her in the light.
P.S. I just amazed my pharmacist, by knocking MERSA out of the ballpark, (within 18 hours), with a raw, herbal treatment, consumed in large quantity, in a smoothie. Yes, that raw, herbal, treatment, (thanks to my generous amigos!). Took it down at least eighty percent. I finished it off with an anti-biotic.

I especially can understand your challenge.... I have faced some of them this year. Reach down inside yourself and you will find the woman you are in there. I am sure much love and care is coming your way, especially from Punaweb. They have all been wonderful to me so I know they will extend their good thoughts and care to you. Your biggest battle is fear... mine was. I gave in to it for a while and finally realized I had curled up in a ball in bed and given up on life. I have been reminded that there are plenty of us walking around with cancer who fight the emotional battle every day. Chin up woman, embrace what is good in your life. It's hard but not impossible. I wish you strength in the months and years to com!

hit the floor each morning, the devil says
"Oh Crap, She's up!"

Definitely, our thoughts and prayers with you Tom and your Pam. My wife is a 6 year survivor of cancer, so have just an inkling of what you're going through.

I also am a Christian, Tom and have a very active prayer chain of woman at my church and will put her on the prayer list. We have had a few women in our group that have actively battled and won over the Big C. This is a very encouraging group of woman. I also have a very dear friend who has Lupus. I myself on the verge of death (BGL at over 500) was diagnosed with Diabetes this past Sept, but am fighting my way through that also modifying diet and following the advise of a couple of well renowned doctors of the holistic approach. They have helped with the diabetes a lot. (Dr Hyman's "Blood Sugar Solution" is a very informative book) I have done a lot of research, If your wife is interested I'd be glad to share any of what I have learned. LMK [:I] In the meantime prayers will be sent above on her behalf.
Is your wife by any chance in the SF Bay area, which is where I am.
Best Regards
Laurel
