Does anyone know of a resource or way to recycle old vhs cassettes?

If they are still good, you can donate them to the library for their sale.

FYI, most of the VHS tapes donated to the library get thrown out, either because they are moldy when received or because nobody buys them and the library doesn't have room to store them.

How about taking out the tape and knitting or crocheting it into reusable grocery bags?

I checked with Hilo public library today, they take VHS tapes as long as they are not MOULDY. VHS tapes are still available for rental at the library.
If tapes cannot be used in their collection, they are turned over to Friends Of The Library for their fundraiser book sales!

In the Library lobby by the entrance, bookcase has hardbacks, paperbacks, vhs movies and records for sale. It is continually restocked and maintained by the Friends in their support of the Public Library System[Smile]
