oh and ken, I can't tell if you are commenting about the thread directly or just me - might want to think twice about naming everyone a troll when you do it yourself constantly.

any more comers?

Just what exactly is your point?

If you don’t want to be called a “freak” or an “idiot” why then can't read this post and hear, feel and understand the fear a woman and her teenage daughter had under a terrifying situation, then that makes you an idiot.

And then you make a statement like you did asking why this woman and her teenage daughter did not stop and ask a screaming erratic driver what the problem was before she calls the police?

And you want to discuss "intellegent discussion?"

Clearly you have your head up your ass.

Wow ken just keep the slander coming the more you criticize me the more it makes whatever you're saying have merit. I know your type you'll always have a reason to slander someone no matter the discussion at hand.

Edit :
I asked dayna what the person was screaming at her and she never replied? So I then mentioned if someone was screaming at me trying to get me to pull over I'd be curious and want to find out what they were on about.

though im interested when having someone follow you in a car became a "terrifying experience" -but you can misconstrue anything I say however you want ken - post all day for all I care.

Never underestimate the power of the dark side.

Never underestimate the power of the dark side.

Again, I ask, what is your point?

You posted an insensitive, stupid and ignorant statement to a clearly disturbing threatening situation.

And, aside from myself, one other poster along with the author of the original post called you on it.

Slander you?

I fail to see how pointing out a fact about you translates into slander.

Oh, and I love the “dark side” comment too!

I gave up reading the comments in the local paper because the same few loud voices tend to start screaming at each other and drown out all other input. It is unfortunate that some of those same voices have migrated first to Tiffany's blog and now here. They just take over the thread with rapid firing of personal insults back and forth and no one else can get a word in edgewise. Too bad, because intelligent interaction diminishes in direct proportion to the level and frequency of the attacks.

I agree with Dayna and how she handled the events that started the thread. Maybe it is just a blind spot for some men, but I don't know many women who would have pulled over and talked to a total stranger who was chasing them in a vehicle and screaming. Just look at the number of women who disappear here, including women whose vehicles are found with no sign of the driver, and the other violent events in our recent news; it is hard to understand how any sane person would suggest that stopping and talking to a pissed of stranger who seems unhinged is a good idea. If they were just letting you know you left your purse on the roof of your car there are ways to do that without coming across as deranged and scary.

Zackly Carol ... Call 911, hit your own horn, drive straight to police station while trying to get attention of other drivers to call 911 for you or at least head for public place where other people, MEN are. Apologies to fairer sex here but a nutty attacker is gonna think twice if a bunch of other guys are ready to 'defend' the woman and her child. ... Even if they don't know the story yet. A bunch of titas will have same effect : )

That said ... NO WAY should one stop until they feel its safe.

IMO, this includes breaking traffic laws if need be to ensure safety.

Also, IMO ... If I had a young daughter driving, i would make sure they had something right there to jab or spray in anyone's face if they felt threatened.

pog, yes we did break traffic laws. Which I told the police officer about and he agreed we did the right thing. I didn't ask my daughter to honk the horn, in fact I guess I didn't even think about it. I did feel safe at the police station though. I didn't know where else to go.

One interesting thing is that I think dispatch was able to track me via my cell phone.

I wonder, dayna, if you have any bumper stickers on the back of your vehicle?

Having driven in many states in the US and several places overseas, the only place I have encountered this sort of behavior is in Alaska. Most Alaskans are great folks, yet the several times I had this sort of experience it turned out that somebody (always male) had become enraged by a bumper sticker on the back of my vehicle. I did not think my bumper stickers were highly provocative material (a rainbow with words "Celebrate Diversity" -that sort of mild stuff) but these guys nearly came unhinged.

They decided to rein it back in and rehinge themselves once they chased me to a stop sign or red light and discovered that I was bigger, uglier, better armed, and appeared likely to actually take swift decisive action if they persisted in acting like rabid dogs. It made me worry about my daughter ever driving my vehicle there alone, though, since she was a sweet young teen at the time.

I have encountered nothing like that here in Hawaii, so far.

No bumper stickers, or stickers of any kind other than my dmv thingy on the back. In fact, my jeep is quite bland....

And having lived in Alaska most of my life I never ever ran into that.
