Hate to boar you with Pig troubles but what to do?
#1
Our street on Leilani is suddenly over-run with a herd of pigs. My yard looks like a plowed up potato field and they are eating a lot of expensive plants.

Any ideas or solutions are welcome.

Ouch. No ideas other than getting in touch with your neighbors and putting out feelers to local pig hunters for help?

So glad my yard is fenced in.

Yeah, I'd let people know the general area and hopefully some hunters will magically appear.

Well apparently discharging a gun in Leilani isn't allowed which in this case is kind of dumb. If anyone wants the low down on a possible pig hunt they can email me at nisbet1@yahoo.com

I was speaking with someone who kills them with a knife- with their bare hands- but it is possible he was just trying to impress me[Big Grin]

Apparently bow hunting may be an option. The ones I saw in my yard (about 12 of them) are small and look like they would provide some real nice bacon. A neighbor mentioned seeing a 300 pounder complete with tusks and all. If I see it on the street while driving I may try to run it over.

Some folks use a pig trap.
There are often some advertised for sale on Craigslist/farm & garden.
Also, on Craigslist, sometimes there are offers to bring the trap to your place to do the deed.

Thanks James, I'll look into that.

I'm only a few lots away and they looked at my driveway while heading your way. It is a lot of work, and it took me weeks since I take regular breaks, but a fence and gate do a lot of good for pigs and other things. And I am also close enough I'd hate to have a stray slug come my way.
