Cherry picker
#1
Has anyone here ever rented a cherry picker (aka boom lift)? From web search it seems they can be rented for a few to several hundred dollars a day, perhaps at Puna Rentals. It will be easy enough to call them, just though I would ask for any first hand experiences first. My situation is that I have several very large false Kaumani trees in my front yard that seasonally drop nuts on my roof and the roof of a next door abandoned house, making small explosive noises at intermittent intervals. I'm very experienced with chainsaws, and it would probably even be economical for me to buy one of those pole chainsaws if I could do the trimming myself, without a tree service.

I only have a normal drivers license so there's a limit to the size of a rig I could handle. I do have a truck that could pull a small trailer based one.

Home Depot has a tow behind cherry picker in the rental department. About $175 a day I think.

The small ones without outriggers have little side reach

For lifting engines I prefer an "A" frame safer and a better lift angle. You may want to check those as well
