Moving to Puna stories
#31
[Smile]

I have been hanging around and asking questions for over a year about moving to Puna.

What I have found is for the most part people on this forum are good people and are more than willing to help with the transition with good advice and actually putting their time and extra effort into helping me.( Carol, Charlie, Rob, and all the rest )

Even RainyJim[Wink] Who I called a troll once.

Now, I am trying to find a lot in Leilani to buy, and build a house on it. If I don't do that soon it may turn into never. And with only a limited # of trips left for me around the sun I need to get busy.

I was hoping to have made a trip by now this year, life get's in the way sometimes.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

NOrmally, I hate this sort of thing, but I would actually recommend getting on some "realtor's automatic email update list". I allowed this to happen to me after interfacing with a fairly pushy realtor, and I ended up benefitting! I saw a price drop on a lot of 10k dollars and then I was the "pushy" one, practically running into the realtors office to submit my offer. This is how I ended up buying a lot that I didnt "really know where it was". By the time the other realor's even realized the price drop, the lot already had an offer on it. My plan was to put in an even lower offer, and then when they countered, I was going to then go and "look at my lot" and make an actual decision. AS is so often the case, "my plan" was thwarted when my offer was unexpectedly accepted, and then I had a few anxiety attacks, but ultimately decided "it was meant to be". So, now I am the proud owner of a lot in Orchidland with the SSPP already paid!

LOoks like I"m talking to myself at this point, but I just returned from my lot where I met a couple more neighbors. I just wanted to say how nice everyone is up in Orchidland and one guy came by on a beautiful horse, so someone has horses up there also. Also, after being on this blog for probably only a week, one of my neighbors came up and asked me if "I was the woman on Punaweb?" So much for anonymity. HOpefully I havent already offended someone, who I will know, which is the main problem with blogging!
