I seem to recall a "marijuana bunker" (with 500+ plants, thereby making it "Federal") getting busted up in Glenwood.

The "alleged growers" were released after posting bail.

I think the denial of bail and speedy trial is horrific, and unAmerican for this type of crime. Even OJ accused of a double homicide got a speedy trial. ETA: Every one accused of a double homicide is denied bail. Denial of visitors is also telling me that the government is being less than constitutional.

I think the end of this entire Christie matter will be pitifully bad. For us - the TAXPAYER.

This is nothing more than over zealous agents, prosecutors and a few hold out judges to damn ignorant to do the right thing.

And again, his bail denial is solely due to the judges belief that Roger is a "Danger to the Community."

In the next decade, this case will diminish into nothing with respect to the marijuana matter, and will evolve into a civil rights matter that will cost the taxpayers millions. In addition to the millions already pissed down the sewer.

If not resolved by the end of Obama's term, my bet is that he will be fully pardoned.

Didnt this already cost the taxpayer's $800K before the arrests were even made?

We will never know the "true cost", because Federal investigations aren't really a matter of public record.

Assume $180/day for the incarceration (I've seen this figure elsewhere, it's probably pretty close). Over three years, that's about $200K, which is barely a "rounding error" in a trillion-dollar budget.

Yes, that $800K came from the original newspaper article when they were arrested.

Although it may only be a rounding error amount - when you multiply it by 50 states, it becomes a little more than that - about $40M. And I figure some states like Cali probably have more than one investigation going on at a time. So $40M is probably low figure overall.

Now think about that $800K allocated to high school seniors as a grant program for college, or trade school just in our state. At least 80 more kids having their 1, maybe 2nd semester of college funded. That seems a lot more cost effective in the long term view.

or even saying to welfare mom's, you dont get pregnant we got $10K for college or trade school for you.

Just saying... there may be better ways to allocate this money than some feds playing James Bond. or even dont spend it at all.
