Dot's hiway division should be able disbanded, and the money's from each county should stay in that county
there are no roads between countys so why are there state hiways

Same reason we all pay Federal gas taxes so that Oahu can have "interstate" highways...

They had workers on the side of northbound (HIlo) HWY11 before 8:30 this morning, but no contr-flow on the southbound at 10...so???

The lines do look very tape-y...so hopefully it was just tape....what surprised me is that there are those pyramid reflectors on the tape...and a few are busted off ....seems like they could have used the tape tab reflectors (like they put up on the lava trails) for a temp taping....not sure why the pyramids are set on the tape....unless maybe the tape comes that way now????

They were sooo backed up yesterday with no warning of what was coming that friends of mine headed to Oahu for Dr. appt. missed their flight, finally got to Oahu and missed their appt. So they are STILL in Oahu with a new appt. today. The patient with the appt. is in a wheelchair. No extra clothes, no toothbrushes, etc., no extra meds. What a mess!!! Thanks DOT!

Agree so much. Oregon DOT looks meticulously perfect when they do road work, including perfection in diverting the flow of traffic.

Well, I do exaggerate[:0] but after seeing the bumbling work this county (or state?) does, Oregon looks great in my mind now.

And NO...I will not move back there! I just learn to practice my aloha spirit when stuck in crazy traffic flow. [8D]

Ditch the gas guzzlers! Ride your bike, scooter or motorcycle. You'll enjoy the trip more and you'll save on showers with all the rain! Nobody should be subjected to the evil incarnate that is automobile traffic.
