Island Air $57.00 inter-island one way fare sale
#1
Island Air is having a great inter-island fare sale between all the Hawaiian islands except Hawaii Island. And my guess is Hawaiian will match those fares. It's unfortunate for us that Island Air doesn't fly here because those are really good fares. Does anyone know why they don't fly here?

They had maintenance problems with their aircraft and dumped the BI because it was the least profitable. (Go! was still in the market at the time). I think they have also dumped Molokai since then. Dumping the BI, at least Kona, was supposed to be temporary but I don't think they've solved the problems with their aircraft's reliability yet. Since then, Ellison seems to have lost his infatuation with having an airline that goes anywhere other than Lanai (hence the dumping of Molokai) plus Empire Airlines (dba "Ohana for Hawaiian") has moved in to secure that monopoly. Island Air won't be coming back to the Big Island unless something big changes. For now your only options are Hawaiian or Mokulele.
