I had two root canal procedures done several months ago by the same dentist. I recently found out from an Endodontist that both root canals need to be redone because they weren't done properly. Does anyone know if I can possibly get the money back that I paid the dentist? I paid him a lot for months of pain, antibiotics and dozens of x-rays. Not to mention so many hours of my time because he works on three patients at a time so I was always in the chair for hours. I bet I'm not the only one whose gone through this with this dentist. I don't think he should be performing expensive root canals on people if he can't do it right. Any ideas on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.

I suspect only a lawyer will be able to help answer your questions.

Agree with Tom you need a lawyer but in the mean time, I'm looking for a dentist. Can you tell me who NOT to go to?

Sistersue, just an antecdote from my hubby's dental adventures which started him out on his current and painful quest.
He lost a tooth (well it fell out and he kept it). Dentist put a temporary post in it. Had problems with permanent post installation and she couldnt get post in correctly. Tooth fell out again.
He said if I do a bad job in construction, I gotta re-do it for free. She said no. It'll be another $800. (Her tech had said it was their fault too.)
He switched dentists. $6000 later still dealing with ramifications of this issue plus the domino effect on his other teeth.
Although my hubby told her where the cow ate the cabbage, we did not sue. Whats the point? If I could remember her name as one to avoid now. It was a female dentist across the st from 7-11 on Kilauea - who knows if she is still there though.

Not a lawyer but have played one. The problem is you would probably hae to get your current dentist to testify and they are not happy going against each other in court. Please let us know the offending dentist's name. I'm afraid you are talking about my dentist who sees three or four patients at a time and who I have some issues with. I need a new dentist if anyone has a good recommendation in Hilo.

Thank you so much for the good recommendations. I don't want to slander anyone, but I will say that what KeaauRich said should be taken seriously! And yes, the thread here on dentists has some good info. Aloha
