Color (other than more neutral & earth-tones) seems to be lacking in most tile stores...I gotta say both here & at the few mainland stores I have visited in Phoenix & Chicago, since I became into cutting tiles....
I have looked for years, as I love to cut tiles & have ordered the ones that are not mostly earth tones from most of the tile shops (with a HEAVY cost), & scavenged up pieces from just about everywhere I can. I have even ordered from Amazon Prime, but I have a higher tolerance for chipped edges than most tile purchasers... To get an idea of some of the tiles I have found (and the tile cutting): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/q9upva5xzopui...E3Tfa?dl=0

I have heard that build.com ships orders, and have a very good selection available. Build your order online, then contact a customer service rep via chat for a shipping quote to complete order. Do not know if this company is a "club" type, as information was passed on to me as a source for my building if needed.

Thank you Peter, it was your tile-work, esp the mosaic lizard, that inspired me to try this!

Very nice tile work Carey! I have nothing as elaborate in mind, but do need various colors for a mosaic. I'll check Lowes and Build.com to see what's out there.
Peter - after several years, how is Mo'o the magnificent holding up? Still resplendent?

Ironyak, if you are looking for small kine amounts of color I do have some that I can share with (most of my vibrant colors are ceramic, but have gotten some porcelain in colors..)
RainyJim, thanks! I am adding some decor trim to Puna piggy, so PP has been on my mind & continues to teach me, & hope to have it back to its owners real soon!

And if you aren't doing a floor or counter, you might consider picassiette mosaic, using broken plates, vases, mirrors, shells, stained glass, and whatever bits and bobs turn up.

Again, beautiful work Carey. Currently I am polishing broken blue, green, and clear glass that I intend to use in a concrete patio as an "exposed aggregate" type finish to hopefully simulate the oceans colors. A test pattern slab will be soon to see if vision is accomplished.
