New Catchment Tank
#1
I may need to put in a whole new Catchment tank and liner and am wondering what prices run for the tank itself as noone has prices listed on their website!
Thanks in advance for sharing any of your experiences!

A 10,000 gallon catchment, liner, frame and cover should run around $3000 plus or minus a few hundred. Call them and ask for quotes (this seems to be the only way to get prices out of them for some reason or another). Add in first flush diverter, pump, pressure tank, filters &/or UV. Also add cost of creating a proper base - gravel and sand.
Me ka ha`aha`a,
Mike

These are the places I plan on calling after the 4th. I'll post quotes from these places. Anyone else know of other places. Please add to the list. Rattlestaff, let us know what you find out.
Thanks,
Steve

I don't recommend working with water works. Poor service, poor communication, poor attitude, and sky high prices! Just try and find alternative before you're forced to go with them!

If your house is on post and pier, make sure the catchment tank is located someplace where if it fails and the water all gushes out at once, it won't knock your house off the posts. Would suck if your house survived a mild earthquake only to get blasted off it's posts by a wall of 10,000 gallons of water.

Thanks rainyjim for the heads up. I was thinking of Island Catchment Company any ways. Since a friend told me about them. Thanks

terracore, man I didn't even think about that. My house is going to be post and pier. Don't want a big wave knocking my house over. Thanks for the info. Totally slipped my mind.

Heres the quotes we got for new tank at 10,000 gal.
They wanted to charge us $800 to tear out the old tank:/ and then they would sell it for scrap Im sure. So we decided to tear out the old tank ourselves and sell for scrapSmile
Everywhere Ive looked the tanks and liners are about the same so thats not where they make the money the prices of labor and things like sand and gravel varried wildly Ive heard 2 tons of sand for $250 and Ive heard 2 tons of sand for $450 so thats what you gotta watch.
Hope this helps.

I have three different sized tanks that all come in at roughly 10,000 gallons. Those dimensions are listed below.

21'7 x 44" $2095
18'6" x 5'4" $2468
15'5" x 7'2" $2450
These prices are tank and liner only. No additional accessories.

A 10,000 gallons tank with liner, cover, cover support and tank overflow (complete tank set up) comes in at a little under $3000 dependent on the tank diameter. Installation for a new tank is $1200 - $1700. This includes 3/4" base course (gravel), #4 sand and a load of water (4000 gallons). Basically all the items you need for the installation.

I work with a guy on post and pier who had a failure and was lucky to survive the flood because the tank was just off to the left enough the brunt of the burst missed his house. His neighbor had a similar failure and it knocked the house off the posts. Or piers. Whichever. Both were in the same Ka'u neighborhood... so whoever has been installing catchment tanks around there... hmmm
