Well, to be honest this post is going a different direction than I had hoped. I was leaning towards whether her credibility on a pretty wild story could possible be legitimate. Something keeps telling me this woman was a victim and law enforcement intimidated her rather than helped her. Time will tell.
I am really losing faith in our law enforcement and judicial system.

I sent her comments to Hawaiiancorruption website anyway.

Honestly, I think her story is legitimate.

Damon's "black-on-black" color scheme makes his site completely unreadable -- which prevents me (at least) from noticing any possible "crazy".
I'm no fan of Damon but I don't get the black-on-black thing. The site is perfectly readable to me if a little overdone. This is using firefox. Maybe it looks different with other browsers, I don't know.

If you go to Damon's site and read the entire exchange, it gives much more info. There were more than just two emails. He actually pointed her to Tiffany and the woman freaked out over Tiffany's last name.

Of course we only have Damon's postings to go by but..... Based on Nana Valley's sharing of the 2 posts, I could see where people would think this could possibly be real. And given the sad state of our local law enforcement, I could easily believe that they would be unwilling to help her. But if you read all the emails posted by Damon, Tiffany and this woman on Damon's site, I start to get the feeling that she has a few screws
Loose. Like really loose.

Do bad people do horrible things on this island - yup.
Do they get away with it - yup.
Do people with PTSD need our help and not mockery - yup

Do I think this woman was / is under the influence of a controlled substance - probably.

I read the post, more information now than earlier as Damon has posted all the email exchanges/replies and comments. Kate apparently contacted Damon because of his Missing Persons Database to warn people, while trying to piece together what had happened to her, that took courage.
If what she is saying is true, had she not found that inner strength to fight against whatever drugs was in her system, she would have ended up another missing person statistic, that everyone seems to turn a blind eye to!
The comments are interesting

Rana Jackson's article about Human Trafficking in Hawaii, included a piece on a !5 year old girl from Hilo, that was caught up in this. (front page news in Hilo) Also shows the long term effects that drugs can have, it is to easy to write someone off as crazy!

P.A.S.S. many more crimes against women and children take place in Hawaii without notice by anyone!
Local press investigative articles on trafficking in Hawaii

If you pull up Damon's Missing Persons link, read the comments it says a lot

Whatever the outcome of this, hopefully it will at least raise the awareness of a few in the community that there is a problem. "Forewarned is forearmed"

Interesting - been following the thread and then an article about a case in the middle of OC - if it can happen in a gated community in Irvine Ca - Hawaii would be a no brainer..... (as in farm workers last year)

Blogs are just personal opinion sites, just like forums. There aren't any journalistic standards required or expected.

There was a recent survey of Hawaii hospitals and the most number of serious check-ins were for mental health, exceeding heart attacks:

http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/22757...-hospitals
Mental health visits high in Hawaii's hospitals
"The state's Community Health Needs Assessment released Wednesday shows mental health causes accounted for more than 5,000 hospital visits in Hawaii in 2011. That's well above the next highest cause, heart failure, with nearly 3,000 visits."

So, does Hawaii drive people mentally ill or does Hawaii just attract more mentally ill people or has there just always been more people mentally ill than physically ill?
