Over-armed Deedy meets Ha'ole hating Elderts
#1
__

The result, of course is that Kollin Elderts was shot dead.

Anywho, there are a lot of people who suddenly have the very strong opinion that any fisticuffs encounter now makes pulling out a gun and killing somebody OK. (I don't think anybody thought this way 40 years ago.)

I'm sure that Kollin Elderts would have thrown his racial slurs at me, too, but the racial slurs that Kollin Elders DID throw that night were basically over and done with when armed and dangerous (fact!!) Agent Deedy decided to ... what did he decide to do? The two persons involved were sitting at tables far enough apart. Was he going to, at 2:45 a.m. in McDonald's, take care of 200 years of racial tensions in Hawaii? Was he going to change Kollin Elderts into somebody who wouldn't from time to time vent his Ha'ole hatred on some oblivious mainland tourist?

Meanwhile, a black woman who squeezed off a couple of fully legitimate warning shots is sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Ain't no good gonna come of this thread, but ... between this and Zimmerman are the color lines drawn.

This is why you don't want people walking around with guns.

best to assume everyone is stupid, when it comes to guns.

My opinions don't need fixing, thanks.

The situation is not the same.

quote:
According to the judge's order, "there is insufficient evidence that the Defendant reasonably believed deadly force was needed to prevent death or great bodily harm to herself," and that the fact that she came back into the home, instead of leaving out the front or back door "is inconsistent with a person who is in genuine fear for her life."

I gotta agree with the Judge, she left the house (without incident) and came back with a gun. If a person (regardless of race) who was in legimate fear of their life, they would have ran and NOT come back to the house.

As for Zimmerman, I believe he was wrong stalking Martin, profiled him wrongly, and might have even provoked the fight. However, when Martin became an aggressor and was on top of Zimmerman, florida law allows one to defend yourself.

Let this be a lesson to anyone of any race, don't allow someone to provoke you into a fight in states like florida or texas, or you might pay the price.

A case of a drunken, inexperienced, all-ballz no brains federal agent with a gun. Mind you, he had been warned about "haole hating locals" when he first arrived on assignment. The case they are making is that Elderts reached for his gun. All witnesses in the case seem to say otherwise.

Sans all the haole/local stuff, Elderts DID NOT deserve to die. He was not an angel and yes he did have a past record, but look at the surveillance video. Listen to witness testimony. He did not deserve to die.

Yet through it all, I'm not convinced Deedy will be found guilty. And that troubles me. I'd really be sad if I was Eldert's family.
