We built our own house in the Pacific Northwest in the 70's (based on "Your Engineered House" by Rex Roberts, we were very idealistic then) and did a major remodel in Sunnyvale in the 90's. Nonetheless, we really consider ourselves amateurs, especially when we watch what the real professionals accomplish.
The ProTec SIP panels could be compared to Legos - they sort of lock together with splines and you fasten them together with screws. Not much more to it, works for amateurs. Installing the roof SIPs was mostly just a matter of screwing them to the beams.

My first house was a rather simple 24x24, built with my Dad's help when I was still single. My Dad was an electrical contractor, so I grew up in that environment. Probably any house I've owned has had a remodel done on some scale.
That said, I agree with Pete, more muscle than skill. I purposely hired labor to take direction from me as I knew pretty much there wasn't a deep pool of ProTec experienced builders available.
As for plans, wife and I designed our place. When time came, Rob put me in touch with a local plans drawer who eventually produced stamped plans and county permit. Rob converted the plans into a map for the various panels. Our house is essentially 4 standalone boxes: 2 @ 21x42, 1@28x42, and 1@24x42. We started the first wall last week of June and all 4 boxes were roofed by 15 Sep.

OMG, I am so impressed by the people that can build their own homes. My son and I cant even put together a particle board shelf from walmart. Congratulations! That sounds fairly quick also.
