So, did most of you read this story?

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - a few sentences are copied below........

"The U.S. Marine Corps is looking at moving an unmanned aerial vehicle squadron to its base in Kaneohe Bay. "

"The possible move comes after increased discussion about drones and similar vehicles being used for domestic surveillance."

A Bill was introduced by Sam Slom...Oahu
"I know that there are legitimate uses for drones and we're going to see more of them," said Slom. "Search and rescue, for example, comes to mind. And defense. That's fine."

"But Slom and others want to make sure that drones or other unmanned aerial vehicles aren't used to invade privacy."

Helicopters (and Drones to come) will continue to be used to invade privacy....especially when it comes down to "Public safety." In the eyes of the feds, Hawaii is still considered a major "marijuana growing region." Therefore, resources to invade privacy will continue to be funneled to Hawaii for the foreseeable future. Most of the helicopter flights in recent years have been either federal DEA or federal grants funneled through the county. The police officers chosen or who volunteer to fly make quite a considerable windfall. Dangerous/Hazardous pay and other payment stipulations make it quite a lucrative "side job."

Bring on the drones! Quiet and fuel efficient! Only the guilty should be bothered by them.

Why is patriotism thought to be blind loyalty to the government and the politicians who run it, rather than loyalty to the principles of liberty and support for the people? Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it’s wrong.

Samuel Adams said:
In a state of tranquillity, wealth, and luxury, our descendants would forget the arts of war and the noble activity and zeal which made their ancestors invincible. Every art of corruption would be employed to loosen the bond of union which renders our resistance formidable. When the spirit of liberty, which now animates our hearts and gives success to our arms, is extinct, our numbers will accelerate our ruin and render us easier victims to tyranny. If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!

Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break into pieces.

The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra, vol. 4, p.181
When we care for others our own strength to live increases. When we help people expand their state of life, our lives also expand. Actions to benefit others are not separate from actions to benefit oneself.
