Alert ID - Check Your Neigborhood
#1
FYI: As Puna grows, we need to be more aware of who our neighbors are. Below is a link which will allow you to check your area for offenders. Provided by our government (U.S. Dept. of Justice) to "Protect your family" and "Protect Your Community":

Stay safe, and keep your keiki close. Malama.

Obie that is the same site I use. Having a child, I keep a close eye on things of that nature.

Just because there is no record, doesn't mean there is no problem. These lists give both a false sense of security and fear. Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe

I know of a registered convicted sex offender from Texas living in my neighborhood for many years now, and as far as I know he is not registered here in Hawaii. I don't know the reason for this but he is here in Puna. Here is a link (removed by moderator)

Rainbow Ally,

I do not know the facts of your first ever post on Punaweb and frankly I don't especially want to. I am not impressed with a first post from someone who's I.P. address is in Ashburn, Virginia and is making such serious accusations.

Rob . I am in HPP don't know why you get a Virginia ip adress.. I am just trying to alert the public about this man who is in Puna and is a registered sex offender from Texas. He is my neighbor!

If you intend to expose him, if that is your purpose, inform the police. This forum is not the best venue for such things. I am naturally suspicious of people suddenly showing up and doing a Paul Revere routine.

Assume the best and ask questions.

Off-topic technical minutae: wireless IP blocks aren't geographical -- and not just in the obvious sense: there are service companies providing the back-end transit to the wireless carriers, and for some reason they're recycling legacy pre-CIDR address space (eg, between 192/8 and mid-204/8, usually in the 192 or 198 blocks that were originally geographical to northamerica).

A lookingglass will probably find that the IP space does not, in fact, originate in VA.

The remaining accusations would best be taken up with law enforcement.
