"Suspect David True Seal made headlines in 2009 when he escaped from the State Hospital in Kaneohe. He had been acquitted of two counts of sex assault and two counts of kidnapping by reason of insanity. According to the CrimeStoppers web site, Seal was never caught."

So he was acquitted because he's insane ? I say put him in prison anyway instead of a minimum security nut house. And he was "never caught" ??? Has he been on the loose since then? Confusing details.

the read would suggest a criminally insane person went missing in plain sight for three years - unless he was back here visiting.....

Or stalking. Makes one wonder how many kooks are running around loose on this rock.

he escaped after 9 years in the mental hospital, ... long time lock up on being acquitted ...Id escape too!

also shows how EASY it is to move and blend in from island to island w/o ID... (Kaneohe - MtView) he prob was here for most of the 4 years as he was only sighted on Oahu for a short time after climbing the 14' fence... he also looks different now than in older mug shots from his earlier crimes on Maui

Guess the TSA was really on top of checking ID at the Honolulu airport that day!
