Rooster farms in HPP mapped. HEY Sputnut!
#1
Spent some quality time looking at HPP from above and mapped the locations of the rooster farms. They ranged from large operations(30+ units) to small time "hobbiests" with six or seven units.
I counted 23 operations with most (19) west of and including 20th street. I made a spreadsheet of the locations by number street and cross street and lot position. I was suprised there are so many rooster farms in HPP!
So, Sputnut, buy your house east of 20th street! HTH

Input: I wager some - most of those rooster 'farmers' rent rather than own and, for obvious reasons, they probably have to move often.

It'll be interesting to check every six months and see! Eventually, I'll link to TMKs and see who the owners are, but that's a big job.

Considering that "fancy game roosters" aren't "illegal", this seems like an awful lot of unnecessary work.

Unless, of course, someone has figured out how to invoke a State agency. Perhaps DoH would be willing to add this issue to their "fugitive dust" complaints against HPP?

The Bing mpas of HPP are more current than google maps or earthview, if you zoom in the maximum. Google has a picture form when our house was empty and we've been here almost 4 years. Bing shows my husband's car and the trees we got rid of are missing, so it is only about 6 months old.

Thank you so very much. Any way to link it up for all to see? It does seem as if they prefer HPP over the other subdiv's. Not sure why, maybe the rent vs. buy thing. Unfortunately, that is the subdiv we prefer, as well. Glad to see not everyone on here is pro rooster as I seem to be getting a lot of counter talk and mockery for my concern over what is a real horror for some and would be for me.
I found a place north west of mountain view I like. Are the termites less active up there? I know it rains a lot there, though. It's surrounded by woods, so no rooster worries. Still gotta sell this place here first. Another one coming to walk thru Sat.

Roosters? Termites? Rain? Welcome to Hawaii. I'm confident you will find a spot that suits you.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I don't think it's "mockery" to point out an indefensible position.

Raising roosters is a "permitted agricultural use", if you don't like it, don't buy ag-zoned land.

I'm not passing any judgment (I'm not either pro- or anti-) about the roosters, just like to know where they are. This is first part of my analysis of the subject. Lot more to come!

Yeah, raising Roosters is not illegal in any way shape or form. Also, it really is a legitimate AG use. I try my very best not to judge and I live very very close to a rooster farm.
