Criminal lawyer

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good criminal lawyer working on the east side? I have a friend who was involved in a traffic accident where someone was injured, and now the county has decided to prosecute. I understand there aren't that many criminal lawyers here. Also, those to avoid, if any. Particularly helpful would be anyone who has had a good (or bad) personal experience working with one.

Begs the question what is the local going rate - 300 - 350 an hour?
