I know this site is for "puna", but hoping you guys travel into Hilo to, and branching out to try and find my missing dog. My craiglist ad is copied/pasted into here:
"My one year old German shepherd got free from my friends house when I was there, and was scared by something and bolted off. He was last seen heading down Manono towards the civic center, about 9:30 am, on Saturday 11/23. I did multiple rounds throughout the day, but no luck, I never saw him.
**He MAY have been spotted by the Hilo Transfer Station. I got a call from the Humane Society on Wed., but they didn't get a description other then a "German Shepherd". I've checked down there, and will again, but if you spot him, please call me or the humane society!! I live near Pahoa, so please call ASAP so I can get out there... the drive time is anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes**
He is skittish around people and cars, so I'm not sure how many streets he would cross, or where he ended up before stopping and realizing he was lost.
I'm already missing him, and hoping someone sees him, or is able to catch him!
He is dark tan and black (black saddle on back). He is wearing a heavy duty black/dark purple collar, with a blue bone ID tag. He may come to the name "Reese" but actually has a different name on the tag. He barks at males and other animals, but isn't aggressive.
If you see and try to catch, bending down with an open hand is best. Please call if you see or have any information on him! My number is 936-0948, call or text. There are pictures of him up in the "lost and found" community section."
Please, if anyone sees him call me. My grandmother and I both miss him very much. I'm worried that due to his shy nature that he won't go to people, even for food, and may be starving.
Thank you for any help,
Zella
