NEW living wage??
I would be inclined to agree. Food and water are essential to life. I would also recommend that people cut off their television programming.

Why do prices rise?

Whenever and wherever unions get a wage increase, price increases follow. Those increases become the "justification" for more.

We are pretty much past the days of my grandfather when the very real benefit of a union was safety and working conditions, now union benefits are directly related to $$, driving further increases to cost of living. Some just keep falling behind while the cat chases it's tail. So here is the chance for the more, less dumb, pro union types to prove me wrong. Detail where case after case after case, an increase in union benefits ($$$) has resulted in across the board, permanent reduction to cost of living, not only for members, but anyone living/working in proximity.

Hint: detail the reductions to cost of living here on Hawaii in line with union gains.

the mcducks guy makes $9200.00 per hour

If you REALLY want to see how it works, try thinking about your pay in terms of time. For example: say it took two years to "earn" a car ten years ago as opposed to it being more or less now.
Mistake most people make is thinking of their pay in absolute terms when they should be looking at it in relative terms.

Yes, let's all be good, hardworking people, so that we can make money to bail out GM.

The taxpayers "only" lost $10B on that deal. Pocket change.

laws limiting top ceo pay to 100 times the lowest worker are gaining ground in some countries

Ah, the politics of envy... Must be something wrong with a system that pays someone else more than me. Can't be because they work harder, or are smarter, or are worth more to their company than I am to my employer. Or maybe they are willing to make sacrifices that I'm not willing to make....

Sorry, my "baby" brother pays more in taxes than I'm ever likely to make. He has some talents I don't have; and works at a job I wouldn't have for any pay; and spends his time doing things that would leave me brain dead in a month. I made my choices and am happy (most of the time) with how I spend my time - the only thing of real value. Other people make choices too and need to recognize that, if they want a different outcome, they should have made different choices...
