Here’s an idea: Let’s buy holiday gifts this year from small local businesses and self-employed people. For example, from your neighbor who sells online, local craftspeople, local gift stores, your friend who runs a shop, local bakers, the folks at the outdoor markets and local service providers. Let’s make sure that money goes to individual people and NOT multinational companies with cheap products made with slave labor (Wal-Mart & Target!!) This way more local people will have a better holiday season. Let’s support our family, friends and neighbors who live here and are working hard, like you are.
