Just curious, what are you using this pump for?
What size generator to power Grundfos water pump?

Jim, if you are asking us (terracore and I) Its the pump that pumps water from the catchment tank to the house.

Thanks Dayna.
I was curious for all. I use a solar panel for my water pump, so was wondering what kinds of pumps need generators!

I cannot imagine why anyone would use a 1HP pump for a catchment system. Like having 500 HP for your KIA.

You expressed having two inverters... What are the specs on the inverter? Are they rated to run in parallel? If so, that should solve the issue.
BTW... don't try it unless they are rated to do so with one another. - Armed citizens provide security of a free State.

DanielP,
I have 45' vertical head to my top floor... guess what my pump is rated at? Hint... it's above 1HP. - Armed citizens provide security of a free State.

Rainyjim,
Everyone who's ventured to the rooftop deck has mentioned the same along with a zip line request too. Just 35' away, it's a near 60' above the orchard. Maybe I can fit one of them in some day - Armed citizens provide security of a free State.

"Just curious, what are you using this pump for?"
If you are asking me, we run the greenhouse and any other watering requirements for the nursery, as well as domestic needs. We have used up to 300 gallons a day to water the greenhouse from a 24,000 gallon catchment tank.

In the interest of closing this thread, a fellow Punawebber hooked me up with a Generac 3500xl that has no problem powering the pump.
