No accusation, just irony; the ban is on certain shapes, after all.

I don't find it a problem to bring my reusable bags. They hold more, and they don't break from the weight.

I don't mind plastic bag bans. Plastic is gross.

Instead of recycling plastic shopping bags to hold my garbage, I'm buying plastic bags that will never be recycled. Lawmakers=1, Environment= 0.

And environmentalist or not, you will pay more at the register for the plastic bag ban:
http://www.seattlepi.com/local/article/S...314744.php Also, all my reusable bags are full of dog hair, you will probably see dog hair on the fresh produce section at a store near you. The slightest breeze sets the hair afloat. We do give our dogs Revolution for heart worm, so it's full of chemicals. On your food. Sorry, that is what the county has mandated. Oh yeah, we don't always wash our reusable bags, so the black conveyor belt heading towards the cashier has blood borne pathogens on it. Because we put the store's leaky meat containers in our bag. Don't put your produce on the belt unless you are going to cook it or wash it really well. There are other things that we use our reusable bags for. You may or may not want to know about them. But rest assured, they will be next to your fresh produce, handled by your cashier, and smeared all over the conveyor belt. But don't worry, the reefs will still have their regular supply of plastic bags drifted in on the ocean currents from Asia. The plastic bags causing havoc on the ecosystem were never "from here" to begin with. Tell me again what problems this plastic bag ban was supposed to solve?

Sigh. Just pretend everywhere you shop is Costco! Bring your own box!
Go with the flow... I guess...

Gee terracore, If we had only know this sooner the plastic bag ban could have been avoided.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Oh geez, what did we ever do before the almighty plastic bag was invented? Everyone should avoid plastic if possible and more should be done to find an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic crap imo.

what the plastic ban was supposed to solve, or rather instigate, is
a start on everyone banning the plastics. Asia included. Sure it may seem far fetched but, we only have one earth, and we are destroying her fast. So, one martyr, or revolutionary, can help. Maybe a crazy thought and might not be executed well, but the intent is a good one. |
