Adam-I-am
it is true that many people have spent years in prison and even got the death penalty, only to find out that they were not guilty of the crime.

Yep, i can remember growing up on this island in the 60's & 70's and going to Harry K.Brown park on the weekends with my family. Wonderfull memories of hawaiian music in the pavillion and concerts, those were the unspoiled days in kalapana.

Please stop. Allow the cloud to be lifted from Kalapana. Remember the old days, Kaimu, Queens's bath, mangoes, the most beautiful people inside and out. Allow Kalapana to be rebuilt in this tradition rather than one of fear and doubt.

We can't go back but we can go forward and remember how good it was and can be again.

Waiting in a small patch of woods for two days
VS.
Being held hostage, tortured, and framed.
Either is possible. If police would have actually given an appropriate response to a few of the questions, these answers wouldn't linger. The few reporters that were there did not pounce on the right questions at the right times. They should have questioned why authorities can't recall if the bottle of liquor was full or empty, or rather it was fingerprinted or tested for DNA. I felt like reporters should have also asked about why bloodstains were found in a neat crime scene, who those bloodstains belonged to. Quite frankly blood isn't an indication of mere strangulation. Finally, it was a bit appalling that when asked about forensic details involving the hanging, reporters just let the spokesman get away with "from a tree" as an actual answer.
Perhaps journalists were so shocked by the huge influx of unreleased information that they couldn't adequately analyze the answers quick enough. All in all, HPD put on a pretty disappointing news conference, and journalists missed key opportunities to ask pertinent questions. I hope reporters get another chance, but I have serious doubts that they will.
