"Sting" is referring to vibrating the concrete.
Assume the best and ask questions.

My advice to UKJ, just be aware, concrete work is more than just brawn. JMHO, but concrete work (especially structural) is one of those skills that require some expertise and experience.

I've mixed, poured, screeded many a yard in my day, but I hired professionals when it really mattered.

if I were to do one upgrade while pouring a slab for a one story house - pour a footing that meets 2 story requirements - and document same

Brilliant. People often lose sight of the "expensive" part, in this case jacking the house to dig underneath -- by which time the concrete is pretty cheap.
