I bought a machete there and didn't have any way to sharpen it, and lots of people use blades of various sorts over there. Maybe some kind of excellent knife/blade/machete sharpening booth... Just a thought. Don't know if the economics work out at all...

We had a successful booth there for a couple of years. My opinion is you need to find a niche and provide something people really need not just something people buy on a whim with extra money they feel like spending at the time.
For us it was "off grid eqpt." i.e. tankless watre heaters, 12 volt pumps, camp stoves etc. I also provided installation.
There are lots of options for success.
The booth fee ( for non food booths) is $25. First come first served for location unless you have a permanent space. Good luck and have fun.
enjoy.

Meat. There are the fish guys, and Emily with Puna Chicks. I'd love to see beef for sale at the Maku'u. So I can go each week and buy my fish and beef at the same time I buy my veg.

And i got an update from Puna Chicks and they will no longer be selling at the Maku'u market. So pretty much fish is the only option.
