Political Campaign Signage
#1
I'm sad to see that Faye Hanohano is first in putting up her myriad array of political campaign signs all over Puna. The long, ugly, sign onslaught has begun. Uugh. It is such a visual disrespect of paradise, and it's a very long time until the election.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a campaign sign season that is shorter, with a maximum square footage and frequency of signs? Hawaii was wise enough to ban billboards. How did this campaign signage thing get so out of control?

Do you think a grass roots movement to tackle this would be worth the effort? It would require getting a Politician to introduce such a bill! Who might be brave enough to do it?

Perhaps we could convince Ms. Hanohano that campaign signs are really the work of the evil westerners- and then she might decide to take them down,

Hanohano must feel like she needs to start early. She has a huge hole to dig herself out of and the investigation is just getting under way. Check the Punaweb political forum for details.

Only one politician has signs up. Feeling a little desperate, Faye?
Just sign me and my wife as "Another Haole and Jap for Hanohano"

I'm seeing a lot of Onishi signs in Hilo, also Schatz, and Hanabusa. The incumbents may be pushing an early presence to discourage potential opposition from filing.

Hopefully, nobody will have as many signs as Kenoi did for the last election. He had dozens just at one intersection on 130.
