Do as I say, not as I do.
Or should I say, do who I say, not who I do.

Wow. This is horrendous on so many levels. The cops in this state already have a reputation for being corrupt and now this? Are they gonna make a law to say it's ok for them to inhale/snort/shoot up too if it means catching the dealer?

Yeah, lets let them be above the law.
That will make them more humble.
Sounds like entrapment through deception to me.
Are they allowed to solicit the transaction too?
They should have to identify themselves as "John Pigley"
Just ridiculous...
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

Sickening! Unbelievable. [

!] Even ohana who has worked those streets of Waikiki as cops/vice/undercover, etc., for the past 50-60 years are disgusted!!! One comment was, "What if the prostitute is a minor?" Good Lord!
WTH is SHOPO's position? I guess this doesn't fall under their jurisdiction (these "officers" may not be part of the union). Cover your tattoos, but go have sex with whores??????? OMG.
Speechless. JMO.

Repeal the religiously inspired anti prostitution law and the subject of this topic becomes a mute point in this context.
I don't believe Air Force Amy considers herself a slave. It's time to get off the speed bump and move forward.

The scenery is amazingly vivid when one pulls the board out from in front of their face.
Canada ended this sort of backwoods perverted legislation a few months back and took a step ahead of the US in the implementation of legitimate intelligence.

Most States aren't capable of recognizing such draconian anti Constitutional legislation for what it is and typically require a modern day ruling from the SCOTUS to wake up. Hawaii I can't imagine has any better foresight than any of the other States still engaging in such offensive legislation.
The moral to this story... when you create perverted laws you inexplicitly create more perverted laws. Isn't that interesting? The police trying to continue the law reminds me of the NSA attempting to defend their current practices. End of story.

Most police in the usa are nothing but a legalized hit mob. Quite disturbing that when a cop drives by I feel intimidated and paranoid, rather than protected and safe. This just goes to show, they are free to dowwhatever they please, with zero consequences.

oceangirl, Wow, What a load of crap that was! Most police are just your neighbors attempting to do a pretty thankless job as best they can, within the framework of human frailties. Sure, there are bad cops, and always will be some. Thats one of those never ending battles.
As for the issue of the thread topic, I guess then the main issue for Wao would then be whether or not the police are taking advantage of unethical police discounts or freebies.
Now that I have my feeble attempt at humor out of the way, let me say that I think the issue is pretty stupid. I can think up a justification for the exception but I consider it very inadequate. Personally, I can't understand why anyone would want to take the personal risk entailed by engaging in sexual acts with any members of the sex trade. I know I wouldn't want to personally risk exposure to sexually transmitted disease, much less the subsequent exposure of my family. Someone needs a brain transplant.
