Shywarn Has activated their severe weather watch
All Skywarn Spotters,
The National Weather Service in Honolulu Hawaii is activating the Skywarn Spotter Network from noon today (March 28) through 6pm Saturday, March 29th.
Here is a synopsis of the potential weather hazards -
...RISK OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY...
A POWERFUL UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL DIG SOUTH TOWARD THE ISLANDS LATER
TODAY AND TONIGHT. AHEAD OF THIS LOW...THE ATMOSPHERE OVER THE
ISLANDS WILL CONTINUE TO DESTABILIZE RAPIDLY.
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP EARLY THIS AFTERNOON
OVER THE ISLANDS. IN ADDITION TO THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING...THE
STRONGEST STORMS THIS AFTERNOON COULD PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...
FREQUENT LIGHTNING...INTENSE DOWNPOURS...AND FUNNEL CLOUDS.
TONIGHT AND SATURDAY...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE. AS THE UPPER LOW APPROACHES THE ISLANDS...A FEW OF THESE
STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL THE SIZE OF QUARTERS OR LARGER...
IN ADDITION TO FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND INTENSE RAINFALL.
BE READY FOR RAPID CHANGES IN THE WEATHER TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
WHILE NOT EVERYONE WILL SEE INTENSE WEATHER...YOU SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO MOVE INDOORS QUICKLY IF THE WEATHER APPEARS
THREATENING OR THUNDER IS HEARD. THOSE WITH OUTDOOR PLANS SHOULD
HAVE AN IMMEDIATE WAY TO GET WATCHES OR WARNINGS THAT MAY BE
ISSUED TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
