Hawaii Life

our first site went up in '99 been at a while, know the ropes ....when targeted it becomes intense .....

this years upgrade was 10k in software to harden the site against intrusion.

it really is spy vs spy out there these days

- thanks for the advice

here is a good example of even the huffington post staking out the search term "moving to hawaii" - its just not the little guys doing everything they can to "own" a search topic.... it may help us get back on topic however

I post alot because I am trying to do as much as I can from where I am as far as getting information about the area. I've been on different forums, read dozens of books, watched shows and movies, talked with various close friends who have live in HI, stalked people on linkedIn and been in conversation with them, researched different areas online and with brokers and realtors all over the past year.

Its also very easy for me to check in during downtime at my job.

At the end of the day, the only foregone conclusion I have been able to put together is that everyone has a different varied opinion about the island and Puna. What I believe is that this is a reflection of themselves mostly.

I'll be the first one to admit I am opinionated, and talkative. Then again, isnt that exactly what a forum is for ?

$10k in software? Still having problems? Sounds like highway robbery!

iptables is free, works well, but you need to know how to define firewall rules...

I am 98% sure you are still on an acid trip Bullwinkle. Not judging you, just its sometimes (actually often) hard to understand your mumbling.

I wish you could formulate a thought more coherently, because I think somewhere in there may be a point.

sad - personal attacks rather than being clear about motive

good way to ingratiate yourself with folks who could lend you a hand

stroke: car salesman talk for some one wasting you time with ulterior motive

One self person - let me try understand - you getting paid to look for one hale, tell your tale .
Den you have 200K to plunk down on a shelter in puna.
Try live hea minimum one year, den make a choice where is best fit for you.
Our ohana has no TV,no need.
No cable or DSL where we stay .
Cell phone is spotty at best.
Can be very remote,it is an island in middle of big blue pond.
Very transient population .
As Dorothy once said," she no mo in Kansas any mo "
Maybe try Oahu or Maui if you like fast paced every ting.

I love this line. LOL It's the truth!

But seriously, we rented here for six months first. Found out where I did NOT want to live. When I finally did move I knew what to look for. Anyone who moves here straight from the mainland without living here first is bound to have regrets.

Bullwinkle, Oneself is not advertising. Hawaiilife does well enough with out using people to spam. In fact if you google most MLS # in Puna or in the state of Hawaii and their website will come up along with Trulia, Zillow etc. They had the internet locked down long before they had a show. Plus Oneself has not directed anyone to go to their site or anything. Get over it. It's a website and a t.v. show big deal.

Oneself if you want to do it. Go for it! It will be fun. They don't show much personal info about the people on that show anyway. It's not a really sensational show. It's not like they will turn you into some reality t.v. celebrity or anything. So enjoy it. Hopefully you find something nice out of the deal. I would be surprised if they pay you but it will probably be fun.
