yes, just opposite the turn for the dump there. Its getting to be a very dangerous spot there with many accidents. looks like a small suv van with the front end totally smashed in. only saw the one car but the other may have been towed away already

Should the county be responsible? all the construction going on? or maybe just pay attention? another lawsuit? I am amazed at the dull brains here. and the loss of a loved one's. take your time to keep your mind on driving and always be courteous to others, that is aloha? lets keep it that way? every life is precious to someone....

A very common practice on Hawaiian roads is the cut off. As long they can swing their rear bumper in front of you people will pull out in front of you. Regardless of speed, size of vehicle or weather this happens. Drive with Aloha - stay alive...

State roads are not County's responsibility; see also "the paving of downtown Pahoa".

I got rear ended there in a 3 car pileup: the Cadillac Escalade slammed into the Toyota Tacomoa which then slammed into my little Scion, which was stopped because all the traffic had stopped. The Escalade didn't even slow down before she hit the Tacoma.

There seem to be 2 kinds of accidents there: rear end chain reaction collisions and people getting T-boned when turning into the dump. The rear end collisions happen because people speed up right after getting through the merge and often also pull out their cell phones. Then when traffic slows down we get multiple car rear end collisions. The T-bones seem to be caused by people thinking they could safely make the turn and incorrectly estimating the speed of oncoming traffic.

The one last night looked like a T bone, a boxy shaped with the drivers door caved in
