Hawaii county council district 4 race
#1
I thought I would start a centralized thread for this race to make it easier for people to follow the election. Please post what you think about this race.

Agree, quite impressive. I would support him.

I particularly like this statement:
quote:
Many of you have asked, where do you stand on this issue or that issue? I am always happy to share my feelings and opinions on any matter of public concern. But what I would really like to express is that your views, and the community’s views, are a vital part of how I determine my stand on any issue. I am here to listen and to help develop a winning strategy for our future.
I think this is a great way to view a Council position.

As far as Miss Green goes _ why would anyone want to support a person who makes a living off of other peoples misfortune?
In case you didn't know she runs the pawn shop in Pahoa?

I like Greggor Ilagan's vibe , he seems to have a real smile imho, however I believe he did not support anti - gmo legislation, and is way into supporting the status quo .
Perhaps he will see the light and support a more equitable posistion as many people in his district feel quite differently on the gmo issue than he does.

I will consider Greggor if he stops being Puna's biggest traffic hazard. When he jumps around waving hysterically, 'sign waving', by the Keaau bypass, it makes me think he belongs in a sandbox, with a safety fence around it. No apparent sense of the danger he is causing. I require more maturity than that for my vote.

Disregard Kathy's candidate listing. Blas pulled papers but never filed. Same for Alona Quartero who has decided to run for OHA instead. Here is the final list (alphabetically) for D.4:

Madeline Greene
Greggar Ilagan
Roy Lozano
Emily Naeole

All the above will participate in the forum tomorrow night (Thursday, June 5) at 5:30 at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility.
See you there!

I just tried to email Illagan on a matter in his district and his email box is full, so it bounced back. I hope he is still reading Punaweb and empties it soon.

While a lot of you folks don't like the sign waving I suggest you try to understand that this is Hawaii and roadside sign waving is traditional Hawaiian politics. It is Hawaiian style. If you came to Hawaii for Hawaii it is simply part of the landscape and I recommend you relax about it.
Assume the best and ask questions.
