I agree, Carol.
I have no problem with links to public forum discussions when relevant to a discussion somewhere else, or to sharing reviews, or sharing comments that were clearly made with an expectation of a public audience viewing them.
In this case, I thought making the Facebook posts the subject of a new topic was quite wrong, ethically.
The original Facebook discussion was done in the moment and without any expectation that it would become front page local blog new
I perceived Zendo's comment responding to the BIC topic to be a public statement about personal issues, made by an elected representative, knowing very well that the comment would be widely read and might be copied over.
Clearly some very disheartening conflicts came his way, and you can tell he is saddened and feeling protective of his family.
The fact that if he runs, he runs against the person who was not showing a good sense of boundaries, which has already caused pain ... well, he has reason to consider hard what that will do his family.
