Where in the World is Zendo?
#1
I had great hopes for Zendo, but it seems his heart went out of the job, and I can see why if you read this.

He seemed so happy with his new wife and very much in love, just married and then this treatment. It's sad to see him abused this way, so I totally understand the choice he made, putting his family first.

I have a real problem with taking people's words from one venue, like an email that was not sent to the person who publishes it, or taking a set of posts on a face book page, and publishing them in another venue without permission from the people whose words and names are being published. To me that is a very ethically challenged action no matter who does it.

off topic - but with regards to the content of the article -

that intersection near the malama market is one of the stupidest designs i've seen in my 20+ years of driving.

The turnoff from 130, the entrance to malama, the longs complex, kahakai, and now this new center. i seriously think someone should be incarcerated for allowing this to happen, or at least publicly humiliated and should never be allowed to design again.

to blame the accidents on the drivers is just silly. the design of that intersection is far more hazardous than any other that i know of, that is why drivers are at a greater risk of an accident there than anywhere else.

zendo i believe ,he has been the worst council representative our district has ever had. He is never in the office, never returns a phone call does not keep his commitment to show up at invited events. basicly he has not served his constituents well at all. best solution vote him out.

I agree, Carol.

I have no problem with links to public forum discussions when relevant to a discussion somewhere else, or to sharing reviews, or sharing comments that were clearly made with an expectation of a public audience viewing them.

In this case, I thought making the Facebook posts the subject of a new topic was quite wrong, ethically.

The original Facebook discussion was done in the moment and without any expectation that it would become front page local blog new

I perceived Zendo's comment responding to the BIC topic to be a public statement about personal issues, made by an elected representative, knowing very well that the comment would be widely read and might be copied over.

Clearly some very disheartening conflicts came his way, and you can tell he is saddened and feeling protective of his family.

The fact that if he runs, he runs against the person who was not showing a good sense of boundaries, which has already caused pain ... well, he has reason to consider hard what that will do his family.

Got to love the hypocrisy shown here by the "not to bright crowd!"

Nothing unethical about a guy who gets elected and paid by the taxpayer and almost immediately becomes a "no show" - but a blog/news outlet owned by a person who now has decided to run for office and who previously posted a comment from another place on her blog/news outlet is just hands down "unethical" in ways too numerous too mention!

With mentalities like this, its no wonder Hawaii County has no ethical standards.

Once you have a law that defines ethics then what is legal is ethical, and everything Caesar does becomes ethical also.
