Anything Acres
#91
Your experience of the "true nature of the acres" is going to be different from mine or anyone else's. That doesn't mean you're wrong, or that my experience is more "real" than yours (except to me), or that anyone is actually right.

I think this thread DOES represent the attitudes and nature of people who post to Punaweb about Hawaiian Acres. That's a limited group, not necessarily representative of people who live in HA, but that's what we've got here.

And I think your timing is off. There is so much mudslinging going on about the Acres right now that it's going to muddy up any topic that gets close to HA. Might be good to wait and try a "Happy Acres" thread when feelings have calmed down.

Yes I am aware of the timing... That was kinda the point to the thread. Yes I can see your point about the 'fair reflection' of the acres includes all sorts. My experience is that this is a wonderful place to live. I have travelled quite a bit though so I suppose it all depends on what one is comparing it to. My experience is that I wake up every day and give thanks to God for being here, for being so blessed, so loved, so full of life and awe. It's not that I do not understand depression and hardship, believe me I've had my share of trauma, it's just that I have lost all patience with self destruction. This is not a practice run. There is a world of hardship out there and most of us here are the lucky ones. It is yet another beautiful day. Enjoy it.

Lee- sadly I have decided that this idea of having a thread about the acres that doesn't dissolve into nastiness is indeed unrealistic, especially if it is me that is posting it. I find it troubling that these threads have the highest number of readers. People presumably are not reading this in order to find out the good things about the acres, but in order to watch us fight amongst ourselves. I don't want to be part of that vortex. Thank you for pointing out the gardening thread, I may well post there, hopefully without controversy, as I do indeed have numerous 'gardening' questions and also some answers. I wish everyone joy and aloha. As previously stated, we will be having a 4 July party and would love to meet more of you. Please drop me an email if you would like to come. My regards to you all. Laurie.

I do hope that you do not continue with the same type of posts that earned you a "vacation" in the first place. Keep it civil, please.

wow dude,,,, I guess you didn't get the memo,,,, I wasn't spanked for anything I posted,,,,, apparently some folks just don't like my last name ,,, which is common in parts of Europe and Scotland,,, and iv been called moose all my life by family and friends, iv changed it to moose2.0 to make the politically correct portion a wee bit happier ,,,, maybe you should sweep your own floor before looking at other floors that in your opinion need sweeping ,,,, unless you are the morality police and in that case,,, well you can imagine !

Actually your vacation was the result of a very uncivil post you made - not your original user name. So please take note. If I find some individual who takes up too much of my time in managing this site that individual will be gone.
