It is times like these that I feel like a hall monitor at an elementary school.
Ken, You came out of the gate here in a rather rude and abusive manner... something you do too often. You are going to take a Punaweb vacation for a week or so.

All those in favor of voting to use all HARC funds to build fences rather than roads in order to make Hawaiian Acres a gated community...to keep the riff raff IN, say Aye! Aye!
Meeting adjourned, now what?

2bad4u, As I get older I find petty bickering more and more annoying. Take heed.

Once again MC is needed to put justthefact2bad4u in her place. If there were a way to vote somebody out of the community the voting tally would be a landslide. Everyone would vote you out Mrs.Gladys! I agree with Ken, not one cent.

Justthelies is right about one thing. Like many others, i don't pay road dues. So that makes all this ok, doesn't it? It does however brings up an interesting point. Neither do you Cindy. So, unless American law is even crazier than I think it is, you are not in a position to sue the harc for failing to use your money. So, what you're asking therefore is, are there enough mean spirited people in this subdivision to sue them on your behalf? As you are already suing them for allegedly trying to do repairs that you simply didn't approve of, I am assuming that the call for yet another law suit has once again got absolutely nothing to do with the roads but with your continuing feud with HACA/harc.
PS. You do realize that being married to someone that works is not the same thing as actually working?
PPS. No. You have not been here all your life. Do not pretend to be local.

What are you talking about ? I am not justthefacts
Where do you get your information ? You are listening to gossip. Why is there no attempt to get your facts straight ? As far as legal matters go I am sick of this nonsense. If you want to talk look for the truth if not I will find out who you are and contact a lawyer. If you think I am joking, keep it up. You did say you were paying your property off in July did you not. At this point you will have something to complain about other than " the Mcdonalds " think before you post any more trash.
Rob... you have allowed others to call myself and justthefacts almost every filthy name they can think of will you put a stop to that as well ?

Why would someone even move to H.A. if they are so touchy about the unpaved roads? Do some research before you move into an area and if you decide you don't like the area move to another area that has what you like. It's like people who have get into a relationship with someone they don't like and then expect that person to change. I am moving to H.A. and I know the roads are rough. I know they may never get paved but I still love the area. I like the ruggedness of it. If they eventually get paved that is fine but till then I feel so lucky to be able to live in a place where natures majesty is so present.

If you sue, it just takes even more of the money that should be spent on roads away from the roads.
The only thing that would really have a chance of working is to get ALL the neighbors organized and start going to the HOA meetings and making demands that money be accounted for. If enough people do it, then something will happen.
If the same dozen people are the only ones to complain, then the HOA can just ignore them. Get everyone to sign petitions. Get everyone to change their vote for HOA board members. Get together and hire a mean lawyer to write a couple of "Back Off Bozo" letters. That's: "I have a mean lawyer and I will sic him on you if nothing is done". It does not mean you actually sue. You can usually get a Back Off Bozo letter for about $100.
As long as the majority don't care enough to make changes, nothing will happen. It appears to me that a large number of the residents are perfectly happy with the way things are.
Your other option, OP, is to move to an area with better roads. Real estate has started to sell in Puna, so you might be able to sell and either move to a subdivision with paved roads, or at least get a lot closer to pavement.
