road fee's plus tax

We saw on TV recently that the Federal Tax on gasoline will rise on Jan 1st 2015 to 24 cents a gallon and on Jan 1st 2016 will rise again another 8 cents per gallon to 32 cents per gallon,nationwide.

Oahu is the only island with "Federal" highways.

I'm sure the outer islands benefit "indirectly" somehow, especially given that the Fed gas tax is used for all kinds of other non-road projects (gee, I wonder why it's short of funds?)
