SPACE, Bellyacres problems
#1
In case you do not get or read the local paper, there is a very interesting article in today's Tribune-Herald covering the DLNR investigation into Bellyacre's activities. See site below.

Yet it's perfectly okay when County breaks the law, because they can always buy their way out of the problem by spending more tax dollars:

(and I'm not even talking about "that private road thing".)

Can anybody come up with a more dysfunctional community model than this?

Yes; goes by many names: "County Council", PCDP, "privately-owned public road", etc.

What's so dysfunctional about a community or organization that says it's a circus? With clowns?
I think chaos, confusion, and disorganization is implied.

enough is enough. Gram has shown time and time again has not followed the rules everyone else does. Time to level to the ground

if they are going on state land, and bulldozing and/or building on it - that needs to be dealt with. as far as the special use permit, the county needs to run this through and let that place be a viable place of business. as far as unsustainability of bulldozing ohia forests - if it's on private land - there's not much to be done about that. the country/state/county/you can always buy the land and protect it, but outside of that, it's people's right to do what they please on their land (within the bounds of the permit process)

I remain curious as to how the Roberts ohana can stand to be associated with a defiant defiler of the Ohia forest. Malama the aina anyone?

Hey Graham - don't think it's just a minority of people who are against you and what you are trying to get away with. People like RJ are just shining the light on your activities, the rest of us are also disgusted.

Hmm deja vu with this guy and his personal vendetta - Think you'll need to make another complain thread about SPACE / BellyAcres / Ruderman in another month or two?

And it is "sustainable" to charge rent for unpermitted shacks on state land

Is it "sustainable" to let the problem fester for a decade until the "outlaw hippies" are well-entrenched?

In any case, the message is clear; Seaview is being gentrified, hopefully the "artistic" types will cash out before they get red-tagged by our ever-vigilant County Code Enforcement Corps. Then we can repeat this entire scenario 20 years later and a couple miles further up the Red Road. Your tax dollars at work!

Lavalava - Maybe Uncle Robert recognizes aloha when he sees it? Wouldn't find any in you or RJ, of course!
