Attempted Thief of Stop Sign HPP Paradise 8th

I was out walking the dog when I seen a Gray Dodge Ram KingCab KZHO?? pulled over on the side of the road. It appeared that they where dumping their trash.
The people get back into the truck and then I see from a distance, that something fell out of the truck. As they drove past me, I stopped them and I told them to go back and pick up their trash. The female driver no more than 18, said they where going to turn around. I told, them they better or I'd call the police. As I got closer to the item in the road, I realized it was our street sign. I ask them what they where doing stealing the stop signs? She claimed they found it on the road. I told her then why did you load it in your truck? She then ask me what I wanted them to do, I told them get the sign off the road, so that someone doesn't accidently run over it and damage their car and to stop attempting to steal stop signs. They moved it off the road, and I reported the incident to the police.
I arrived at home at 4:45 and the sign was still in the ground, at 6:30 it was down.
So if you know of anyone who allows their kids to drive this truck, let them know, that they are using it to pull up stop signs in our Park.

Yes, the stop sign is down at 8th and Paradise Dr. I had called my husband to let him know what had happened, and he was upset with me for putting myself in harms way, by myself, is why I forgot, what the last two digits of the plate. But, now the police have the description of the vehicle.

It happens so fast, and after thoughts, let's all careful, about how we go about confronting others, who are doing things against the law[}].
You never know what state of mind, they are in. and they could have done me harm, if they wanted too.

In retrospect,be safe out there, carry your cell phone, then call 933-3311 non-emergency # to report the incident. IMHO

I got lucky, there was 3 of them. 1 female 18 driver, 2 boys, 18 & 13 caucasian

Have noticed several stop signs on the ground in Kaloli point area in the last couple if days. All appeared vandalism related.

Me, too. Stop sign down at 3rd and Maku'u hpp (I htink it's 3rd - might be 4th?) and I also saw a speed sign down - sorry - can't rememeber - 6th? 7th? & Maku'u. I thought maybe HPPOA was pushing them down to move them or something. Weird seeing 2 in one trip.
