I am hoping the State of Hawaii will join the other states in refusing to comply with this request!

I'm pretty sure Hawaii will tell them to pound sand.

Please take the time to read the material referred to in Hikatz' post.
The request is outrageous, calling for information that is PRIVATE and no one else's business.
The only data which should be disclosed is whether I am legally registered to vote. Period. This feels like a 'Social Hack' asking for last 4 SS digits, date of birth, etc.
Ballots are secret. To me that means that once you know I am legally qualified to vote, any more than that is my business only. If the State discloses any more than basic info, I will campaign for a Class Action Suit against them for damages, and hold them legally liable for any misuse of disclosed data.
Rant over, resume normal programming.

You did read the history books right? You know the part about that guy over in Germany, or that Russian guy.. or come on, pic a madman we've had so many. And yeah it can happen here.. almost kinda.. well maybe sorta does look like it could happen here. And still who knows.. it could just be an overgrown spoiled rich kid having gotten a hold of daddy's keys and is posting way too many tweets.. I don't know. In fact the only thing I am sure of is it's scarier than any fractured fairy tales I ever watched.

I was curious if Hawaii had responded to the request with most news sites I read not mentioning the state. However, The Washington Post claims that Hawaii has not received the request. The article was posted about eight hours ago though, so maybe there's more recent news?

All they have to do is not provide the SS# and not have a cow about it. I assume that is what most states will do.

edit to add:
From the state voter registration website:

By utilizing the online voter registration system, you consent to election officials obtaining information from government databases associated with government-issued identification, including your digitized signature, in order to complete and confirm the contents of your application and to validate and confirm your identity.

You mean like when the American public asked to see Trump's tax returns? Like every other candidate for the office has shown us over the years? Maybe Hawaii should ask for a fair trade, our voter roles for his tax returns.

Sans social security numbers and cows.

What really got my attention is that they want voting records included in the reporting. THAT is no one's business!

They want more than voting records, this is a copy of the letter sent to the States.
