Last night we were up tending to the baby when we heard either a plane, chopper, or well UFO. About 1:00 a.m this UFO came in fairly fast with enough noise we were thinking our other kids were going to be woken. What a bright moon we had last night for it seemed like it was daytime or we were in ALaska during the summer. Anyone know anything about this aircraft or it's mission at 1:00 a.m? Maybe something to do with the volcano, but why fly over sleeping neighborhoods?.

I for one don't believe it was anything to do with RIMPAC.

First Space Port in Hawaii is in Kalapana. Kind of destroys the urban myth that Hawaiians can't get prepared in advance. Unfortunately, the last flight was booked and reservations are now being taken for one-way or round trip space fare on possible future flights.
