Storm approaching - keep an eye on it

A good view of the storm approaching , which seems being drawn towards Baja California, especially in the am hours , till it meets resistance several hundred miles off of the coast of Baja at which point aerosol spraying is clearly evident.
At this time (approx 9 am Friday) it looks kinda iffy to me as far as the severity of our local weather- probably more more rain as some of the affected clouds make towards the Eastern edge of the BI shore.
Time will tell, because I am not a weatherman (but that doesn't stop me from trying) , and the weather as we all know is subject to rapid change .

Also to watch the intermediary genesis of this storm, here is a link: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~ovens/w...ir+/48h/3h
The ir view from 02:30 pm PDT, to Wed 16 Jul 2014 11:30 am PDT, Fri 18 Jul 2014.
This is really interesting , as ir provides round the clock viewing of the intermediary genesis of this storm

The Serptine Path of aerial wind currents.
Check out the complexity of the air current streams with a view to the Hawaiian Islands and the really strong circulation from Hawaii to West Coast and back again, invloved with the present decay of a defeated storm

I was just wondering if the rain we just had was the storm because it's beautiful sunshine and blue skies right now....not that I'm complaining

Revel in any sunshine while you can.
Just got this email...

A message from COUNTY OF HAWAII
July 19, 2014 4:41 p.m.

The National Weather Service is maintaining the Flash Flood Watch for Hawaii Island effective through 6:00PM Monday July 21st. Although current rain conditions are being reported as light to moderate, other systems of high moisture are approaching the island from the east and is forecasted to bring heavy rains and possible thunder showers. Residents in flood prone areas are advised to take precautions. Stream and river areas should be avoided as flash flooding can occur with little to no warning. All roads and highways are open at this time however motorists are advised to drive with caution and to anticipate delays and possible road closures if hazardous conditions occur. Please monitor your local radio stations for broadcast updates as conditions change and additional forecasts are developed.

Oahu seems to be getting hammered at the moment. Don't see much on the radar plot so far that's heading our way.

The forecast center just revised "down" their precipitation estimates for the east side of the Big Island. Looks like we dodged the really heavy rain!
