I still worry about my family and everyone else breathing volcano fumes and what it may do to them longterm, but I've pretty much gotten over it because I love my land and house and couldn't leave it even if I really wanted to.

I miss air conditioning! But we are putting in solar at the first of the year so I may not have to get over it. We will see.

Many years ago, I swore that I'd never again own a lawnmower or a snow shovel.
I still don't own a snow shovel, and I'll get over it.

Oneself,
Check your pressure tank psi. It should be 2 psi below your cut in pressure. Or pump that puppy up to 38 or even 48 psi for a cut in pressure of 40 or 50. (You'll need to readjust your pressure switch cut in to either 40 or 50 too.)
Maybe you don't need to get over it!

Mold, mildew and slick spots. Yes, I got over it!

Before moving here I asked several long-time residents what was the worst thing about the island of Hawaii. A lady said lack of variety. My lifetime frame of reference is Oahu and an old friend answere my question, "It's big." Everything is half to a full hour or more away.
You learn to plan your trips and you easily get over it. And, later, appreciate it.

I don't think that would work well on the Hilo side. Too humid.
