snorkle, please let me remind you that RJ was not the council lady she was the legislative assistant. RJ did not think it up...she was told to do it. So she made it happen by writing a well crafted resolution that passed the scrutiny of the legislative research branch and was passed almost unanimously by the council. I mean what was RJ going to do...quit and say she was not going to write it? Everything is a challenge. And what about the other bills that Rj worked on? Some people only write one bill a year. If RJ was elected and you came to her office and if you were her constituent who had a concern that was real and valid she would work with you and fight for you too.

Kalakoa, it worked better for Bush 2 he got re-elected unlike Mr read my lips. Although I think it was more genuine with W.
Sativa, are you saying that R.J. disagreed with the legislation she wrote on vaccines? Are you saying it would be unacceptable to resign in light of that? See Colin Powell.

Funny. She seems to be a very unhappy person. A lot of people find their way to Puna to get away from things. Punaweb and Big Island Chronicle can be real downers, and outside of them, the bile-filled, gut-wrenching issue obsessions are almost completely forgotten during the day. This whole affair was very un-Emily. Wacky internet conspiracy theories are not her forte. Being "told to do it" does not explain Sativa hitting the streets in Pahoa doing missionary work on the subject explaining, on the sidewalk, the evils of vaccinations.
This sounds like R.J. & Sativa trying to put some distance between culpable civic negligence and looking to blame it on someone else.
Shallow, misguided and dangerous.
Assume the best and ask questions.

An opposing (or neutral) view on this subject -
Unfortunately, based on a family member (2 yrs old at the time) who had incredibly bad reactions to some of the vaccines just 18 mo ago, only time will now tell if it was worth it. Is long term damage to one child worth the protection for many others? It is a question I will leave to the mother and to the scientists.
So in this case RJ's position on vaccinations would not be a deciding factor for me.

Actually she has every right to do so. And so does anyone else for that matter. You are in a public forum, and you have no expectation of privacy there. Before giving out legal advice, mabe consult a lawyer first, or just simply "do the Google."

YouTube will not remove a video in a public forum, especially a pubic meeting where the speakers are voluntarily speaking and know they are being recorded. But by all means, knock yourself out and request it.

My objection is not to be filmed without permission in a public forum, it is this Pahoa-style video camera amateur in-your-face journalism that is becoming the acceptable standard all these female hobby journalists from Puna are using.
There is always built-up rage, aggression, confrontation, and hostility with these emotionalism hot-button topics. Also, these hot-button topics are being presented by these women, who self proclaim they are the community leaders, as representative of the community interests. This isn't aloha and in fact, isn't even civil.
