I appreciate the info, opihikao.
Sorry to go off topic but didn't want to start a new topic for a quick question.

Looks like Tiffany has been doing tax/voter fraud for a decade. Tiffany bought her Hilo house in 2004 and filed for a home owners exemption that year. She then hopscotched across the district registering in several different districts over the years. It might be that she has never registered to vote in Hilo one of the requirements of taking a homeowners exemption. She listed her residence as: 15-2883 PAHOA VILLAGE ROAD Residence for her 2012 voter registration. (gotta vote for Fred, since Zendo is a shoe in.) I guess. The song that comes to mind 'I get around' by the Beach Boys.

People have been living in unpermitted shacks for at least five decades.

County has been defrauding taxpayers the whole time.

It all stops mattering after a while. Get over it.

Which is a commercial property... Jeff Hunt's Surf Shop...
Wonder what her excuse for this will be?

So the have-nots of Puna are responsible for the greed of tax cheats?

So where are all the "investigative reporters" at the Tribune Herald and BIC, etc. ?

Having coffee together perhaps.

"Nothing here, move along!"

Maybe with Tiffany paying, with campaign funds.. for the people she used to work with?

There will be NO story in the Tribune-Herald.

From the Trib:

Edwards Hunt was one of numerous property owners who received letters from the county this year asking for their exemption status to be clarified.

She said she removed the exemption after receiving the letter, which the county’s Real Property Tax Division confirmed. The change goes into effect next year.

“I’m just trying to be as honest and karmatically correct” as possible, Edwards Hunt said.

The home is tenant occupied and listed for sale.

Stan Sitko, Real Property Tax Division administrator, said the county’s goal is to get homeowners to update their status and a penalty won’t be issued for those who come into compliance.
