I'm not arguing the merits of the case itself. My issue is mainly with some general assumptions some are making about issues that may be related or only perceived as related to the incident. I also have an issue with people making assumptions about the case and pre-judging it. Let the jury decide. I haven't read about the case in detail and don't plan to. Deedy may well be very culpable, or not. I don't know.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong gypsy69, Deedy did not make the first contact. Deedy was assaulted first. There are videos out there if you search and you want to know the truth. Grainy videos but evidence none the less.

Deedy will walk or do very little time, conversely if it was a regular citizen that pulled the gun and starting blasting they will put them away for a loooooooooong time. If your a cop/ law enforce person you have a license to kill in this country.

I'm wondering what Deedy would have done if another bystander had pulled a gun out and shot Elderts in Deedy's presence during this confrontation ?

He likely would have done what any law enforcement officer was hired and expected to do - stop the aggression as effectively as he could. Whether Deedy could have done a better job of doing that had he not been consuming alcohol, I won't presume to say - but Elderts was the aggressor in this situation.
