in the last two frames of the GOES TPAC, the eye of Iselle is visibly diminishing, amd the storm discussion has noted that the westerly vertical shear has effected the storm Wishful thinking!

EDITED I thought that was too good! Thanks for re-aligning me Kelena! I had checked both storms (neighbor on the east coast) & thought that was a great change!

Looks like that last link discusses Bertha, off the Atlantic coast. Here is the discussion about Iselle: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIA...shtml?text

They gonna send a plane to check it out. "Dynamic models are in poor agreement as to how much shear" Iselle will experience. "The SHIPS and Florida State
Superensemble forecast an intensity near 40 kt when Iselle gets near Hawaii, while the GFDL and HWRF forecast it to be a hurricane. The
intensity forecast from 48-120 hours has been nudged upward in agreement with the LGEM model and the intensity consensus, and it
calls for Iselle to be just below hurricane strength near Hawaii." They suggest not focusing too much on intensity or tracking information at this point. They also hand off the baton from the National Hurricane Center to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center for future advisories.

Fans of Luquin's will want to stock up on burritos! I think I am going to take down the umbrella in my patio. Or perhaps I will just hang on to it and do my best Mary Bobbins and fly to Maui.

As the days go by it is interesting (to me at least) to watch the progress of these events . Today again, I have listed 3 links from UW Washington (Seattle), and they cover our area of concern - all of the links need a high speed connection, or it will take much time to download. These links give you a bigger picture which is the entire Hemispheric Eastern Pacific view, as opposed to say, focusing only on the storms current tracking prediction, and with close observation you can see the influences described in the NOAA article
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIA...shtml?text

Links below cover the entire Hemispheric Eastern Pacific view

In todays 5 min vid their is emphasis on Hawaii, (at 1:39 sec to 1:57 sec) and as usual S0 gives the bigger picture which relates contextually to an array of interelated scientific disiciplines whih serve as official records and contribute to a better understanding of just how our cilmate is formed and becomes what it is.

eerie alright, and strange animal behavior.

First the resident wild rooster hopped onto a stone lantern and started to crow.
Then I listened to the birds and they were tweeting and chirping.
The pigs came last night and dug up the lower yard some more.
I knew things were getting weird when I found my cat and she was sleeping on the deck with the sun warming her belly What the heck is going on?

"Something's happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear."
